Dr Reilly!

The doctorate is the icing on the cake for Parnell who, in April 2007, was appointed Captain of the Professional Golfers Association.

As representative of over 7500 golf professionals in 57 countries, he’s on the VIP list for all the major golf competitions in this country and abroad during his two year stint.

Parnell Reilly, Bradley Park’s golf professional, was indeed honoured to be the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Civil Laws (Hon DCL) from Huddersfield University. “I feel very humbled to have received such an award from the university. To have your home town acknowledge 26 years of service to golf is just amazing,” he said. "I have been very lucky to be in a position to help golf develop in this area. Culture and Leisure Services have given me the facilities to achieve my ambitions and have backed me all the way over all these years. So without them, none of this would have been possible.”

New Golf Buggies - 9 May 2007

Bradley Park Golf Course in Huddersfield has turned even greener by taking delivery of 10 brand new, electric golf buggies.

The buggies are supplied by Wakefield dealership MTS Club Car and replace the old petrol-driven fleet.

They were officially handed over by MTS Club Cars Sales Executive Allan Clarke, the Leeds and England football legend, who has now turned his attention to a different ball game.

The municipal course, managed by Kirklees Culture and Leisure Services, is the first in the area to get the new Club Car Precedent Model. Golfers can hire a two-seater buggy for £15.00 per round.
